Wagnild, also known as Lombardi, is a non-industrial Imperial world located in Amdani Subsector of Daibei Sector.
Description (Astrography and Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The government of Wagnild -- then called Lombardi -- engaged in Human genetic experiments which eventually proved to have many negative side effects. Difficulties in dealing with or accepting the "artificials" (as they were called by the locals) led many "naturals" (another local term) to relocate to nearby Kirsch (Daibei 2145).
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Wagnild has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Demographics[edit]
Few of the genetic improvements of the Lombardi days can be traced in Wagnild's people today. A high percentage of those born with super senses suffered mental breakdowns in their early adult life, apparently from sensory overload. High IQs lasted a few generations before returning to a more normal distribution. Improved immune systems caused women to miscarry nearly of their embryos, so that many of the new traits couldn't be passed on at all. The most common surviving trait is metabolic efficiency. An average Wagnilder lives on about 25 percent less food than most Humans.
World Languages[edit]
- Core Anglic: One of the principal dialects of one of the two official languages of the Third Imperium. Daibei's Core Anglic is also influenced by Rim Anglic.
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
