Ice Moss

Plants found on Tarsus and Avastan, having spread to the latter world around 5 million years ago. Many belong to the genus Mastiri.
On Tarsus, ice moss growth covers much of the polar regions to a depth of several centimetres during the spring and fall. Ice moss grows very rapidly, producing clouds of spores in the final days of the season. These spores are carried on the wind, and enter a dormant period until the next growing season. The inhabitants of Tarsus tell tales of travellers being trapped and overgrown before they can call for help. These are extreme exaggerations, but ice moss can clog radiators, air vents, and so on within a few hours if not cleaned out.
