Rancke Notes (2008)[edit]
On p. 43 of Ground Forces, Jason Kemp's father is Duke of Star Bridge. On p. 131 he is Duke of Star Lane. I can't find a subsector in the Imperium called Star Bridge (There's a world of that name in Glimmerdrift Reaches (1637), but it is outside the Imperium). Star Lane, OTOH, is Subsector I of Deneb Sector. So I went with the Star Lane version. Rancke 00:16, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- I know the sidebar stories in GT:Ground Forces were solicited by Doug Berry during the pre-playtest writing of the book and were submitted by various different people. And/Or Doug asked to use names for his own stories. So this is very much a throw away reference.
- I would suggest, as a general system to resolve this, that the subsector isn't named after the duchy. Given the long and storied history of the Imperium, I find the idea that one or more subsectors and/or duchies having changed names not improbable. Given there are 100+ subsectors in the Imperium, having a dozen or so duchies names mismatched with their subsector would not break suspension of disbelief. Tjoneslo 00:22, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- I agree, but that isn't the problem here. The problem is that GF gives two different titles. Since I had to choose one, I chose the one that matched a known subsector (~duchy). Rancke 00:27, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
