FMB Hound class Monobike

Integral to the Aphrodian Mechanized Battalions on Lias (world) these tiny vehicles were initially derived from sport racing bikes. Teetering on a single massive wheel, they hurtle across the dusty plains in search of prey. Designed to pack the fire power of a light tank into the tiniest package possible, their drivers had to learn fast to avoid taking on enemy heavy armor head-on. Four variant models were hastily pressed into service before the end of the war.

FMB-01 Hound class Monobike (Tech Level 9)

A light, mono-wheeled vehicle. There is a single crew member in an open topped cockpit at the rear of the vehicle. This was an early effort to get the weaponry of a tank into the smallest possible vehicle. This version had the best gun in the family with the best range. The ground pressure is too high. It can get stuck in mud 3+ and sand 5+.

FMB-02 Hound class Monobike (Tech Level 9)

A light, mono-wheeled vehicle. There is a single crew member in an open topped cockpit at the rear of the vehicle. This was an effort to redress some of the limitations of the FMB-01 and lower unit costs. The suspension was improved at the expense of the main weapon. The enhanced suspension is easier to maintain. Cross country speed improved as a result. It never gets stuck off road. The weapon was lighter but had less range.

FMB-03 Hound class Monobike (Tech Level 9)

A light, mono-wheeled vehicle. There is a single crew member in an open topped cockpit at the rear of the vehicle. This was an effort to redress some of the limitations of the FMB-02 and increase speed. The larger racing motor is less fuel efficient but more powerful. The suspension could not keep pace and so ground pressure rose again. Road speed was better but cross-country performance decreased. It never gets stuck off road.

FMB-04 Hound class Monobike (Tech Level 9)

A light, mono-wheeled vehicle. There is a single crew member in an open topped cockpit at the rear of the vehicle. This was an effort to redress some of the limitations of the FMB-03 and increase speed. The fusion micro-pile delivers more power and has better fuel efficiency which greatly extends range but is much more massive. It has an insane power to weight ratio. Before this model this series of monobikes always had very short operational ranges and could not venture far from their carriers. Military experts were not sure if the moderate increase in speed was worth the marked increase in unit price. It never gets stuck off road.
