Ships or vehicles with acceleration greater than 1G may only use the acceleraton for limited periods of time, unless they have G compensator installed. Prolonged periods of high acceleration will otherwise injure the crew and passengers.
Artificial gravity G compenstors create an artificial gravity field in direct opposition to the axis of acceleration, thus negating the acceleration (up to the limit of the artificial gravity field). Compensated Gs is the number of acceleration or evasion Gs negated by the compensator.
