Not all ships will have officers of each rating. Each ship should have a legally registered captain.
Crew Terms of Service[edit]
Crew positions are all-found while under way. While crew may sleep aboard while in port, they will find their own food and entertainments at their own expense while docked - unless rostered on port-side security watch.
Officer Terms of Service[edit]
Officers positions provide lodging while under way, but the officers are expected to supply their own provisions - and will be charged by the purser for ships provisions consumed.
Crew Bonus Pool[edit]
Traditionally, 10% of the profit of each voyage (if any, and after salaries and expenses including the annual maintenance/registration fund contribution) is distributed amongst the officers and crew in proportion to the table of crew Bonus Pool Shares listed above.
Low Lottery[edit]
Where low-passage berths are carried, a low-lottery is traditional with the Captain retaining any monies won by deceased passengers.
Crew Manifest[edit]
See Crew Manifest for details
The ship is required to hold an accurate list of crew members as part of the standard Ships Papers showing date and place of joining and (later) date and place of discharge.
