Shona is the offical language of Matabele, a situation that might be considered unexpected given the history of the region with that name on Earth. Quite how the situation arose is shrouded in mystery partially caused by the machinations and associated secrecy that allowed a coherent settlement group to get aboard the Pan-Africa in the first place.
Shona is not much spoken outside of that state's borders.
