Free-Fall Martial Art developed in The Belt amongst transient labourers imported from New Earth.

Several Belt Corporations, from about 100 to 200, imported staff from New Earth, and then provided very poor policing whilst ensuring that they were unable to bring weapons for self-protection. This was known as the Wild Belt Period. This resulted in these workers being subject to various forms of bullying and extortion - and in their finding their own forms of defence based on military and police training, dance forms together with martial arts movies, and any source of practical experience.
The art form migrated out of the lower echelons of Belt society as the Belter Government clamped down on such abuses and provided a more effective law enforcement framework.
