An evolving language of the Belt, especially away from the main trading ports. It is characterised by a significant non-verbal "Body-Language" component and its low-class origins have made the speakers of Belter the target of many jokes. (e.g. How do you shut a Belter up? Give them a box to hold.)

Belter is often also ridiculed because it includes a huge number of words for the various types of Asteroid composite - which is unsurprising given its origins amongst the Belt Mining Stations.
