Campaign:NHNE/Events/Round the Belt Challenge

As the system neared its anniversary, the media giants sought several events that would enable them to display the extent to which Humanity had triumphed in their new home. Who came up with the Round the Belt Challenge is not entirely clear, but the inhabitants of Sparks came up with a challenge to the newly forming navies and commercial concerns of the New Earth System - Race from Sparks to Sparks, never closing inside the orbit of Sparks and chasing that body along its own orbit.

The event was a great success and was held each decade from 100 until 280. The year 290 race was cancelled due to the appearance of the Taktsang Pirates.

The race is due to restart in 300.
