Awareness (sense)
Awareness is a sense possessed by some living organisms that allow them to detect electric and magnetic fields via their nervous system.
Description[edit]
Awareness is a sense that allows the "aware" organism to "see" both Electric Fields and Magnetic Fields. As a result, disturbances in those fields caused by various masses grants the ability to the aware organism to sense both position and direction via this mechanism. The nervous system of an aware organism responds to the microcurrents which the field creates as it moves within the field which is in turn processed by the brain similar to how skin senses felt stimuli such as temperature or pressure.
If an organism has the Vision-sense as well as the Awareness-sense, the result will be a form of Synthetic Vision in which the brain maps its sensing of fields to a 3D mental visual image, giving full 360° (4π-steradian) sensory coverage in all directions. As a result, Awareness input is mapped to an organism's mental image rather than to the visual input seen by the eyes. Awareness is perceived mentally via mind-generated False Colors: "Mag" for Magnetic Fields and "Lek" for Electric Fields. These "false colors" are perceived as transparent colors which do not illuminate or reflect but are merely an "overlay" and are more or less perceived despite intervening objects. They create a kind of x-ray vision to the extent that they are not absorbed or attenuated.
The Six Senses[edit]
Awareness is one of the Six Standard Senses:
