Notes (2025)[edit]
In Nordic Mythology, in the Prose Edda of Snorri Sturlasson, "Audhumla" or "Auðhumla" or "Auðumbla" was the Primordial Cow (representing fertility, abundance, and nourishment) upon whose milk the Primordial Frost Giant Ymir fed while she licked away the salty rime from the rocks to reveal Búri, the Father of Bór (husband of Bestla), the Father of the chief Æsir gods Viður (Oðinn) - "Wisdom", Víli (Hoenir) - "Will", and Vé (Loður - sometimes identified with Loki) - "Spirit" or "Holy Fire".
