A Poor, Non-agricultural, non-industrial, hellish world located in the Bolivar Subsector of Dagudashaag. Ascension is a member of the Imperium. The system contains a Naval Base.

Lying at the center of the Ilelish Rimworlds, Ascension has become the hub of the communications network linking Dagudashaag with Zarushagar Sector. It has little in the way of natural resources to offer. The mainworld is just a small ball of rock. It is poor in most valuable minerals and there are no gas giants. Yet here 172 the Imperial Navy decided to established one of it's largest bases in the region, to protect its spinward borders.

The security of the naval station attracted many merchants looking for a safe and stable frontier base of operations during the early years of the Imperium. The naval base was expanded at the time of the Ilelish Revolt (418 - 435), in line with the other naval facilities in the region.
