Intelligent minor race of Humaniti, native to Cafad (Sashrakusha / Corridor 3135).
The system is part of the Shurgi Main, which is a branch of the Vilani Main. The Vilani discovered the low-tech human population early in the First Imperium. Their efforts to integrate the Cafadans into their Grand Empire progressed slowly. The world relapsed into barbarism at the onset of the Long Night, and has only now started to re-embrace technology.
