Screech Synopsis
"Screech," as they are known in Imperial space, are small, hexapodal (six-legged) comfort animals, bearing a superficial resemblance to the Solomani Terran cat, originating from Zhdant, and are commonly kept as pets through Zhodani space and exported elsewhere.
Screech Phyiology & Ecology
The Screech (Chicacenmiztli) evolved on Zhdant as carnivore/pouncers until the primitive Zhodani took notice of the "Miztli" and began to domesticate them around -40,000, which culminated in a fully domesticable breed by around -30,000. Miztli are handy companion-animals for the Zhodani and often clean pest out of Zhodani homes and starships.
Screech Trophics
Screech eat almost any variety of small animals or raw meat.
Screech History
The common "Screech" derives it's Human name from the peculiar noises it makes and is known as the "Chicacenmiztli" in the Zhodani tongue, which means "Six-cat." The Zhodani sometimes call "Chicacenmiztli" "Miztli" for short.
