The Royal Caledonian Expeditionary Service (RCES) is analogous to the Imperial Scouts.

The RCES operates a fleet of small scouts and larger research vessels in four major operational areas:

Exploring the systems to coreward, between the Principality and the Great Rift.
Monitoring Aslan activities to spinward
Patrolling the various worlds in the no-man's-space between the driftward edge of the Principality and the troubled Imperial border.
Reconnoitering the various fractions systems to rimward.
