The ULF pistol is a common police weapon at TL 11. It is a hand-sized, ultra-low frequency sound projector. It resembles a heavy pistol, and is very formidable looking. The "muzzle" of the weapon terminates in a large-bore polymer barrel,, which serves to direct the sound waves. It fires a directed blast of ultra-low frequency sound at the target, which spreads out from 10mm at the point of firing to 300mm at 50m. Because the beam from a ULF pistol spreads out, it must always be fired at arms length, to avoid striking the operator. The ULF pistol carries a rechargeable power pack in the pistol grip, which gives the operator around 20 shots. The ULF pistol does no damage, but causes intense headaches, vomiting, weakness and gastric pains. Anyone struck by a ULF pistol will double up on the ground and be unable to move for 1 hour. An antidote injection is available. The ULF pistol is useable at an extreme range of 50m, weighs 1kg, is 340mm long and costs CR600. This weapon appears at TL11. ULF pistols are effective against most species.]].
