The name itself is of uncertain origin; possibly from "Shii" ("comply" or "cooperate") + "Urur" ("search" or "seek out"), and "Sid" ("structure"), and speculated to be the title of an early merchants' protective association (perhaps similar to the modern Traveller's Aid Society.
