The Outworlds Subsector name was originally used as a slight on the planets in the subsector. It was based on the thought that systems here were outside the "block" of the main portion of the League.

Still considered the frontier by many, it is also seen as a focal point for future expansion, as well as a bastion against possible incursion by Monitors coming from the Shattered Worlds.

Xentyle (Mikhail 2216) is already being built up with this in mind, and Ranke Enfyle (Mikhail 2419) will be upgrading its facilities over the next 5 years, with a new VOSS base in the planning stages.

Construction will begin once the orbital port upgrade is completed; materials are already being shipped to Ranke Enfyle.
