I'm not sure where the -1683 date comes in for the Solomani contact. If you're using the secret background that they stole it from a Solomani ship called Pathfinder, which I believe is now canon, they met the Solomani in -2000 or -2001. That would put it during the hairy, ambiguous end of Second Imperium.
