From the Stellar Classification at Wikipedia, the template converts a star description (e.g. G2 V) into it appropriate color (e.g. Yellow).
The full table is:
- Type M stars: Red
- Type K stars: Orange
- Type G stars: Yellow
- Type F stars: Yellow-White
- Type A stars: White
- Type B stars: Blue-White
- Type BD stars: Brown Dwarf
- Type BH stars: Black Hole
- Type O stars: Blue
- Type D stars: White Dwarf
