Alternate Hull Classification Schemes could be as follows:

Alternate Hull Classification Scheme #1:
Simplest: Each Tier increases the previous by 1 power of 10.

ACS: Auxiliary/Adventure Class: (10)/100 - 2,400 tons

BCS: Battle/Bulk Class: (100)/1,000 - 24,000 tons

CCS: Capital Class: (1,000)/10,000 - 240,000 tons

FCS: Fleet Class: (10,000)/100,000 - 2,400,000 tons

WCS: World Class: (100,000)/1,000,000 - 24,000,000 tons

The overlap in the cases above allows for the classification of some smaller vessels in the larger vessels scheme, when necessary.
So when clarity is needed:

• ACS coded ship can be prefaced with "A-" before the code (A1-A9 & AA-AZ)
• BCS coded ship can be prefaced with "B-" before the code (B0-B9 & BA-BZ)
• CCS coded ship can be prefaced with "C-" before the code (C0-C9 & CA-CZ)
• FCS coded ship can be prefaced with "F-" before the code (F0-F9 & FA-FZ)
• WCS coded ship can be prefaced with "W-" before the code (W0-W9 & WA-WZ)

In each code range, the Hull Code would range from 0-9 & A-Z, but at the next higher order of magnitude:

• ACS coded ship: "A0" is not used (< 10 ton) / "A1"-"A9" = 10-90 ton / AA=100 ton through AZ=2,400 ton
• BCS coded ship: "B0" = < 100 ton / "B1"-"B9" = 100-900 ton / BA=1,000 ton through BZ=24,000 ton
• CCS coded ship: "C0" = < 1,000 ton / "C1"-"C9" = 1,000-9,000 ton / CA=10,000 ton through CZ=240,000 ton
• FCS coded ship: "F0" = < 10,000 ton / "F1"-"F9" = 10,000-90,000 ton / FA=100,000 ton through FZ=2,400,000 ton
• WCS coded ship: "W0" = < 100,000 ton / "W1"-"W9" = 100,000-900,000 ton / WA=1,000,000 ton through WZ=24,000,000 ton

Thus (for example):

• Hull Codes A1 thru A9 (< 100 ton) would all fall under the Hull Code B0 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes AA thru AJ (100 ton - 900 ton) would all fall under the Hull Codes B1 thru B9 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes AK thru AU (1000 ton - 1900 ton) would all fall under the Hull Code BA (1000 ton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes AV thru AZ (2000 ton - 2400 ton) would all fall under the Hull Code BB (2000 ton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.

Likewise:

• Hull Codes B0 thru B9 (< 1000 ton) would all fall under the Hull Code C0 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes BA thru BJ (1 kton - 9 kton) would all fall under the Hull Codes C1 thru C9 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes BK thru BU (10 kton - 19 kton) would all fall under the Hull Code CA (10 kton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes BV thru BZ (20 kton - 24 kton) would all fall under the Hull Code CB (20 kton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.

• Hull Codes C0 thru C9 (< 10,000 ton) would all fall under the Hull Code F0 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes CA thru CJ (10 kton - 90 kton) would all fall under the Hull Codes F1 thru F9 in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
• Hull Codes CK thru CU (100 kton - 190 kton) would all fall under the Hull Code FA (100 kton) in the next higher classification when necessary, and more specified granularity is not needed.
