-A successor state to the [[Second Confederation]] in [[Halcyon Sector]], founded in 3401AD. It had its capital at Scybria (2012 Halcyon) and its territory had formed the [[Expansionist]] faction heartlands during the [[civil wars]]. Each member world was represented by Senators and the head of state was the President. It was heavily influenced by the so-called [[Mantlerist]] movement, declaring universal freedoms, personal liberty, and principles of social care as the underlying foundations of the state. The ordinary citizens had a strong dislike of privilege and throughout its existence there was internal friction with land-owning [[Fives]]. In 3638AD the New Republic merged with the [[Collective of Nist]] to form the [[Grand Ascendency]].
