Editing Ceramic Metaconductor

A ceramic material doped with trace amounts of rare earth elements such as [[Lanthanum|lanthanum]] to produce a new type of material that can act as either an insulator or a superconductor. A ceramic metaconductor has two states: it performs as an insulator at low power, or as a superconductor at high power. When the material changes states, from insulator to superconductor or vice versa, it creates a unique field effect that can be controlled.

Just as alternating current creates a magnetic field in a wire, a high-power, high-frequency alternating current creates a changing field state in a ceramic metaconductor. Controlling this field effect allows the manipulation of specific subatomic particles in useful ways; ceramic metaconductors are therefore the key to [[Gravitics|artificial gravity], [[Thruster|thruster]], and [[Jump Drive|jump drive]] technologies.
