Issue #1 of The Imperium Staple (TIS) fanzine was published in March 1986. TIS was started as a sort of successor to the Working Passage fanzine of Ed Edwards. Ed and Herb had a great volume of correspondance.
The first issue of TIS was sent to everyone who had been a subscriber to Working Passage. Accompanying that mailing was a letter written by Ed Edwards, which is shown below.
