History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Formed after a meeting of world leaders in 1122 who felt that Dulinor was draining their sector and worlds dry with no measurable benefit and no end in sight. Tripolis and its neighbors had been subject to raids in 1120 despite being so far behind Dulinor's lines, so there were no illusions of safety despite Verge's remoteness.
Not long after the declaration of the Combine's secession from Dulinor's Federation of Ilelish, punitive strikes toward Tiawan were repulsed, somewhat to the surprise of both sides.
The Combine would survive as Dulinor was increasingly distracted by Lucan and Strephon along other fronts, and it was in Strephon's interest that the Combine survive. Periodic naval incursions continued into 1127, slowly turning Verge Sector into a wild, beaten, and dangerous region like many of the other war zones across the Imperium, making it difficult to assess if the Combine survived until Virus swept away Dulinor and everything else.
