Oethendogh is a ring of many small planetoids not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Ascendancy Pact in the Irrarrdhang Subsector of Knoellighz Sector.

System Data[edit]

The solar primary is a hot, main sequence M, “red dwarf” star. It is surmised that this heat from the primary has baked and shattered the chosen mainworld into fragments that now comprise a proximal group of planetoids that still resemble a broken planet.

Oethendogh has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Oethendogh (Knoellighz 1528) C000675-B As Na Ni at first can deceive the initial perusal of this world’s astrographic data. Without Gas Giants and without planetoid belts an astrogator can wonder at this world’s Asteroid (As) Trade Code. Then answers are found upon jumping into the Oethendogh system.

Oethendogh is found in Irrarrdhang Subsector and was claimed by the Ascendancy Pact during its fourth wave of expansion from Rimward origins.

Inhabited by one million Vargr and composed of a small consortium of loose and Balkanized belter groups that have quietly struck resources rich enough to justify continued operations despite low availability of liquid hydrogen fuel from nearby worlds. Such was their profits that the belters gathered enough funds to aid in the colonization of Aessrroeth (Knoellighz 1624) in cooperation with Roethoeegaeaegz (Knoellighz 1726). Since this consortium targets their sales of ores and radioactive finds to worlds without governments, taxes on their sales are low or are non-existent. This lack of tariff has allowed the belters cover their overhead much more easily. The remaining resources from the shattered mainworld continue to yield rare earths and other heavy elements bound for interface worlds before being passed on to Industrial worlds such as the above Roethoeegaeaegz.

Local to Oethendogh is one of two Corsair Bases of the band that has named itself the Cleaners, (a loose translation from Gvegh). This band of pretend scavengers, belters and junk dealers has been watching the space lanes of this small, Jump-1 cluster of worlds. They seek out derelict vessels that have failed to carry enough fuel and have starved to death in the depths of space or suffered some malfunction or misjump. Such is the scarcity of refuel depots, Gas Giants and sufficient Starports that many vessel captains who fail to sufficiently plan proper routes through the cluster are found by this band. Looting, salvage and lack of reporting their finds has Cleaners residing on the wrong side of the salvage laws of the Ascendancy Pact. Yet, as they never attack active ships, they can hardly be rated as pirates. Through its sister Corsair Base at Utogagzae (Knoellighz 1327), the Cleaners refurbish and fence components, systems, hulls, armor and personal equipment from the derelicts and deceased crews they discover or follow into the depths of space. As of 1105, the Cleaners have avoided Hunters’ Bawn Privateers of the Ascendancy Pact, covering their tracks and pretending to mine asteroids, (their vessels armed with mining lasers), when they or naval vessels of the Admiralty patrol nearby. It has yet to be discovered if this band has been conducting purposeful sabotage of port vessels outbound for this cluster of worlds.

The frontier law of Balkanization has defaulted collectively on the prohibition of concealed personal weapons. Such is not need as many of the belters of the consortium an open-carry sidearm lifestyle. This has both cut down on crimes of passion, but has led to some interesting encounters between honest belters and claimjumpers. Many operations police their own rather than involve the entire system’s attention. If such an escalation happens, the polity Navy becomes involved and nobody wants their attention.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

TBD has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

No information yet available.

World Demographics[edit]

Humaniti, population 100%

World Government (G)[edit]

TBD has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
