Zukhsdou supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. It is a member of Democracy of Greats in the Ourdzoeg Subsector of Knoellighz Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

Slightly smaller than Terra, this wet world is almost entirely covered with oceans. More than 90% of its surface is oceans punctuated with tall seamounts terminating in atolls, islands and archipelagos. Locals must brave frequent sea storms and even typhoons in order to transit from one speck of dry land to another. Often this is done with fast, sailing vessels rather than larger galleys, sloops or galleons for speed of transit over cargo capacity. Seas are churned by waterspout activity and electrical storms which can make a Vargr's fur stand on end.

History & Background (Dossier)

The colony ship that arrived in orbit c.1090, first above Zukhdou (Knoellighz 2509) X769323-0 Lo Lt suffered a critical failure of its main power plant. When repairs were attempted an accident caused the entire engineering section to explode, ejecting many crew to their deaths. Losing orbital altitude due to the blast, the remaining colonists and crew escaped with close to nil and in smallcraft as they descended to the mainworld surface. Without a processing plant, they could not refuel the ship's boat and shuttles surviving the storms.

Immediately the surviors of the ill-fated vessel began the colonization of the planet per their training. However due to lack of support tools, gear, supplies, and poor weather on the oceanic world, the Tech Level of the colonists dropped to zero, resulting in a life-or-death struggle at Stone Age capability.

The lack of Gas Giants and asteroid belts in-system, communications gear and the oceanic storms that obscure the surviving colony's existence, Zukhsdou cannot expect help to arrive from the Democracy of Greats until a second survey arrives just after the beginning of Rebellion, c. 1116.
