Zolag is a high-population ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and are both non-agricultural and industrial in nature with a billion or more sophonts in population size.

• These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
• Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
• As a group of industrial worldlets, well-developed manufacturing and processing sectors are major business here. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
• The worldlets are, for the most part, unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
• It is a member of the 17th Disjuncture in the Mersol Subsector of Meshan Sector, which is part of the Vargr Extents.

Zolag was claimed by the Vilani millennia ago and was eventually absorbed into the Ziru Sirka. It was nominally under the authority of the Rule of Man prior to the Long Night.

• It has ruins and remains on its surface dating to before the founding of the Ziru Sirka.

World Starport (St)

Zolag has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

• The world is host to a Vargr Corsair Base.

The bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucracy or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence like the military.

• -3810: the Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
• -3700s onwards: waves of Vargr settle worlds across the region.
• -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man nominally administers the rimward worlds of the region. Conflicts escalate between Vargr and humans as the Vargr occupy former Ziru Sirka territory.
• -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
• -1658: the Sack of Gashikan, an atrocity known throughout the coreward parts of Charted Space.
• -1427: the Wolvesbane plague is released in Gashikan Sector, decimating Vargr populations.
