Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. |
The Zirukaruna class Battleship is a warship.
- It is a military ship and a Battleship.
Description (Specifications)
It is a vessel with 2-G and J-2 performance with a Unstreamlined Braced Cluster Hull. As far as performance goes, this TL-11 brute masses 22,000 dt, lumbers along at 2-G acceleration, and has Jump-2 capability. Being only a partially streamlined sphere, the Zirukaruna relies on support tankers for refueling; though it is possible to undertake wilderness refueling, the Vilani find it difficult to envision a battleship operating in wilderness conditions. It carries 500 tons of extra fuel to guard against hits that pierce its armored hull.
- It carries heavy armament and a military defensive suite. It is armed with a 1.75 gigawatt CPAWS spinal mount, two 50 ton plasma cannon bays, eight 100 ton missile bays, and a plethora of 5 pulse laser turrets and seventy triple sandcaster turrets.
- It ordinarily carries no subcraft, no ship's vehicles, and drones only when needed.
- It has a 195 sophont crew and 22 marines.

History & Background (Dossier)
Carries the largest particle accelerator available. At the time ships of this size were rare and considered BBs. It was not until much later that the tonnages swelled for ships of the line. They are considered antiques in 1105 IY / TI although they are still effective weapons platforms.
