Windhorn Sector lies coreward of the Third Imperium and is both named after and best known for the presence of the astrographic feature known as the Windhorn Rift.
- It is solidly Vargr Space and part of the Vargr Extents although parts of it were once held by the First and Second Imperiums.
- Some ambitious Imperial nobles still consider it part of the Domain of Vland, even though no official Imperial possession exists in 1116.

History & Background (Dossier)
The Vargr are clearly dominant here, with three political blocs of note. The coreward-spinward part of the sector, across the eponymous Windhorn rift region, is part of the Empire of Varroerth, the largest and most enduring Extents polity. On the rimward side of the sector, in space once held by the Vilani of the Ziru Sirka, two extensive nations eventually formed -- the Ngath Confederation and, recently, the 17th Disjucture. Vargr are the majority population in both, though communities of mostly Vilani-descended Humans, wandering Hlanssai and Hhkar, and the sector's native Aezorgh (from Soghzalghag, Windhorn 1732) are found among them.
