The star Wasat (otherwise known as Delta Geminorum) is a trinary star whose primary component is a white subgiant of spectral type F0, and includes a distant yellow-orange main sequence companion of spectral type K6.
Description (Specifications)
The "primary" of the Wasat system (Wasat A) is actually composed of an F0 IV subgiant and a near companion that form a binary pair with a period of 6.1 years and an orbital eccentricity of e=0.3530.
- A cooler class K main sequence far companion (Wasat B) orbits the inner pair with a period of 1,200 years and an eccentricity of e=0.11.
The Wasat star system lies approximately 18.5pc from Terra, and is located in a Rimward/Rimspinward direction from Terra at bearing 196.0o Galactic Longitude and +15.9o North Galactic Latitude.
