Description (Portfolio)

The Vanguard Reaches Securities Exchange, or VANREX, is an important trading center for all major corporations within the Vanguard Reaches Sector. Established at Portmanteau/Haldensleben (Vanguard Reaches 1513) in 1054, it transmits its results via special courier starships (reputedly Jump-6) to insure accurate and timely reporting throughout the sector.

A subsidiary of the Exchange is the Sector-wide News Service Vanguard Reaches Extra, based on the world Trommler/Haldensleben (Vanguard Reaches 1618). VANREX's news service reports on events throughout the Vanguard Reaches, Beyond, and Far Frontiers sectors, as well as the Malikhar Crescent. As a well-respected source of accurate, timely and non-biased information, VANREX bureaus can be found in virtually every Class-A starport in the Vanguard Reaches. Utilizing high-tech holovideo recording equipment, VANREX has its own fleet of courier starships (made up mostly of surplus Type S scouts from the Trelyn Domain).

VANREX's list of accomplishments include the exoneration of Grand Duchess Lyssa Dyana of the Duchy of Trelyn during her anagathics scandal. A hard-hitting documentary about treaty violations by Aslan diplomats in the Tellerian Cluster was credited with averting a war with the Altarean Confederation.
