The VCS 889 class Survey Ship is a TL–10 Survey Ship.
Description
It is a vessel with 5-G and J-1 performance. The asteroid survey ship model 889, was well adapted to military service as it already processed a thick platisteel armored hull. This allowed it to survive impacts with space debris and to afford the long duration survey crews some radiation shielding.
Two triple beam lasers were included to blast asteroids open and for mining. A triple missile turret replaced the mineral sensor probe launcher originally installed.
It ordinarily carries no subcraft nor drones. The original, unmodified models had a mineral sensor probe launcher.
It has a crew of 8.
