== Maksim-Smelchak (Author) Biography ==
''Maksim-Smelchak'' is a long-time Traveller player, fan, and playtester. Maksim very much enjoys the Traveller universe and has a large collection of 6mm sci-fi game miniatures including a number of Traveller forces, which he uses to play a variety of sci-fi mini games including Dirtside II.
* While Maksim served in the US Air Force, an old friend gave him a cache of LBB's ([[Little Black Book]]s). Maksim spent many a C-130 and C-5 transport plane ride pouring through LBB's in-between missions. Maksim currently lives in Northern California in the United States, and is a frequent enjoyer of all kinds of gaming goodness: RPG's ([[Wikipedia:role-playing game|role-playing game]]s), board games, miniature games, etc. 
* In the past, Maksim has contributed to a variety of gaming products as an author, playtester, magazine article writer, proofreader, illustrator, product reviewer, small press publisher, and in a variety of other roles.
* He has previously contributed material to the Traveller RPG Wiki including creating new material, spellchecking, proofreading, Wiki code corrections, word-smithing, and other additions.
* Someone wrote: "I am in awe of the scale and scope that you're able to tackle. For example, technology and epochs. Wading thru endless fan designs. Getting a large amount of Imperial sectors put together properly. Dealing with challenging personalities on a regular basis..." 
** There are more, of course. I can do lots of stuff - I'm competent at researching a subject and can string a reasonably believable sentence or two together, but like I said, its getting the really big fundamentals of it properly put together. 
** Frankly, I don't see it getting done without someone starting it and finishing it with focus and determination. 
** Exactly so. What I've always said about a leadership role, someone able to actually focus on a potential end point and steer the chaotic contributors towards it - whether they like it or not...
