Description (Specifications)

Tyrian Lordship class Destroyers served with the navy of the Tyrian Lordships, a Rule of Man-era splinter state centered on the world of Tyr, lying close to the center of Trojan Reach Sector. Destroyers projected Tyrian power and protected Tyrian interests in the region. The few surviving examples of the class are historical artifacts housed in museums or kept in private collections.

Basic Ship Characteristics

Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of ten subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]

Basic Ship Characteristics [2]
No. Category Remarks
1. Tonnage / Hull The design is constructed using a 4,000 Ton hull built in a Wedge configuration. The hull is fully streamlined, giving fair atmospheric performance that is further enhanced by its onboard gravitic systems.
  • There are 21 airlocks located around the vessel.
  • The vessel has sturdy retractable legs, allowing surface landings.
2. Crew x134 personnel, including 42 Marines.
  • x10 Officers, plus 1 Marine Officer.
  • x82 Enlisted.

Accommodations

  • There are 67 Staterooms. All quarters are double occupancy.

Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems.

  • There are internal monitoring and security systems throughout the vessel. Individual sections of the hull can be sealed off.
  • There are multiple emergency lockers.
3. Performance The vessel mounts a Jump-2 drive, a Maneuver-6 drive, and a Power Plant-6, giving performance of Jump-2 and 6-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 3 and an emergency agility of 6. The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for one Jump-2 and gives the power plant 4 weeks duration.
  • The engineering section has a main control room.
    • Ladders, gantries and platforms give access to the machinery.
  • The jump drive utilizes a lanthanum hull grid.
  • The jump drive is fitted with a jump governor.
4. Electronics Adjacent to the bridge is a Model/5fib computer: no backup computer is installed.
  • There are multiple workstations and control points throughout the vessel.
  • The vessel is fitted with communications equipment, a standard sensor array, and has an avionics suite.
    • It is fitted with backup commo and sensor systems.
  • It has a transponder unit that can be deactivated on command.
  • It is equipped with a sophisticated ECM package.
5. Hardpoints 40 hardpoints.
  • The listed battery groupings are standard configurations for the class. Alternative battery groupings may be designated for specific missions.
6. Armament The normal weapons fit-out for the vessel is:
7. Defenses The hull is plated, structurally reinforced, and built with secure bulkheads and compartments that give it a High Guard armor rating of 3.
8. Craft Flight Section

The subcraft are housed in dedicated hangers: the hangers can be sealed and have a total volume of 168.8 Tons.

Vehicles

  • x12 6-Ton Attack Speeders.

The vehicle hanger can be sealed and has a volume of 72 Tons.

Drop Capsules

  • There are two Drop Capsule tubes and their associated loading equipment.
  • There is dedicated holding space containing an additional 10 Drop Capsules.
9. Fuel Treatment The vessel has internal fuel tankage of 1,040.0 Tons.
  • The hull is fitted with fuel scoops.
  • The vessel is equipped with a fuel purification plant that can refine all onboard fuel in a few hours: the plant is operated and maintained by the engineering crew.
10. Cost The basic cost of the vessel is MCr3,964.537
  • Architects Fee: MCr39.645
11. Construction Time 139 weeks (32 months) as standard.
  • Build times can be reduced by mass production and the efficiencies such processes generate, by increased financing, and by allotting additional yard resources and facilities to the construction contract.
12. Comments Standard cargo capacity amounts to 0.2 Tons: it serves as a large emergency supply locker.

History & Background (Dossier)

Tyrian Lordship class Destroyers were Rule of Man and Long Night-era vessels that served with the navy of Tyr. The world was a major commercial and industrial hub during the period and was one of the dominant powers on the Sindalian Main, controlling a brutal feudal polity called the Tyrian Lordships. It regularly came into conflict with Aslan "Second Sons" as they spread to trailing in search of new territories, and the hard-worked Destroyers saw frequent action before the eventual collapse of the Lordships state. A number of examples of the class are known to have been captured by the Aslan and pressed into service on their behalf.

They served alongside Tyrian Lordship class Light Cruisers and Tyrian Lordship class Destroyer Escorts.
