Chrysanthemum class Destroyer Escort

The Type G class Frigate is a small, fast vessel intended for fleet and squadron escort duties.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

This class of Destroyer Escort has been pressed into service in a variety of non-escort duties, including orbital patrols, police operations, garrison duties, and even limited strike missions.

Description: It is built on a 600-ton TL-11 braced cluster hull. At its core, the frigate includes drives that support up to Jump-3 and 4-G acceleration, but the performance and endurance of any particular example will depend on the subhulls fitted. [1]

Crew Dossier: The frigate requires a number of crew. [2]

Basic Ship Characteristics[edit]

Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [3]

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The design is old, but efficient, with examples of the ship serving in the Imperial Navy for over a century. Type G class Frigates are ubiquitous, being encountered with larger fleet elements as well as working alone.

Remarks: The frigate is designed to support the cruiser, but also take independent action. It is produced with a variety of interchangeable mission-related subhulls, the frigate can be sent on a long-range sensor sweep mission, return to base and change subhulls, and then return to duty as a missile ship, a hospital ship, or even a communications ship.
