The Trepida class Grav Tank became the standard issue Imperial grav tank (at least at the high end of the technology level scale) in 1109, and was widely distributed within the Third Imperium.

Description (Specifications)

First deployed towards the end of the Fifth Frontier War by the Imperial Army, the Trepida class Grav Tank gave a relatively cheap TL–14 Grav Tank for line deployment in Jump Troops units and others.

The Trepida I was able to penetrate over 2.5 metres of steel at 2.5km range and could withstand that same level of firepower across its frontal arc.

The coaxial and defensive armament was varied by the various ordering armies - Some used Lasers and some used VRF Gauss Guns as the coaxial weapons. Some used Decoy Launchers, some used Prismatic Aerosols and Sandcasters and some used Laser PDS. Top-speed varied somewhat between 1000kmh and 750kmh. The values listed in the above table are those deployed in the Spinward Marches Sector.

History & Background (Dossier)

It was developed as a member of the Trepida & Astrin Grav Vehicle Family for the RDA weapons delivery system.

It was succeeded in front-line service by the Norris class Grav Tank starting from 1156.
