The Ascendancy Pact knows that a Corsair band going by the name of Posthumous attacked and claimed responsibility for the slaughter at the Highport and the planetside Starport and Startown. What they do not know is that the Corsairs were acting on their own cognizance and authorized as Privateers under the Hunters' Bawn Letter of Marque. The band cut around the battle and supply lines and struck a military target while disguised as a Merchant fleet.

The Infinity League and the Zhodani Consulate deplore the merciless methods of Posthumous, but secretly condone the efficiency at which the Privateers cut off this battle support node in the Ascendancy Pact.
