When the Federation of the Fused Mains was first incorporated, not all of the worlds in its two mains were inhabited. It was envisioned that one subcapital for each main - Core Unity and Rim Unity - would suffice. This was almost true, but growth along the trailing side of what would later be named the Spike-Rho Route resulted in a need for additional administrative capacity. Formal recognition as a subcapital came after the passing of the Empress Wave, which left Thessue by far the highest population world in the Federation.
