Terrelay Subsector is Subsector A of Theron Sector.

  • It lies within Charted Space.
  • It is a lawless, dangerous frontier.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Terrelay Subsector is an underdeveloped backwater region with a few scattered outposts and settlements.

  • The resources of the subsector are for the most part untapped.

Astrographic Features & Trade Routes: 1105[edit]

The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Terrelay Subsector:

  • The subsector is a lower stellar density region.
  • The brightest star is the white bright giant primary of the Terrelay system.
  • There are multiple rift regions within the subsector.
  • No trade routes are noted as crossing the region.

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Terrelay Subsector.

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Rift Regions[edit]

Three rift areas lie within the subsector: the Zuva Rift, the Nenuri Expanse, and the Rono Divide.

  • The Nenuri Expanse lies along the coreward edge of the subsector.
  • The Zuva Rift covers the spinward-rimward part of the subsector.
  • The Rono Divide projects into the trailing part of the subsector.
  • All three are part of The Gulfs, a complex of smaller rifts and voids that form part of the Idella Rift.

Locally at least, a rift is an astrographic concept based on Jump Drive performance.

The highest tech level commonly encountered out this Far Along (spinward of the Third Imperium) is TL–12, though a few worlds may be more advanced.

Borealis Group[edit]

The Borealis Group can be seen as a bright, dense, noticeable grouping of stars in the skies to spinward.

World Listing: 1105[edit]

Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds lying within Terrelay Subsector is available.

  • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
  • Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
  • Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
  • Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:

Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, may already be out of date.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Terrelay Subsector is a remote backwater with limited activity and little development within its borders.

The religious dictatorship of Lerrish, a world across the sector border in Theta Borealis, forbids most advanced technology. Over the years, small groups of people who left that world with visiting ships have established tiny settlements in trailing Terrelay, on worlds such as Lansatax, Unsenka, and Gutidu.

Polity Listing: 1105[edit]

No polities are known to exist within (or make any claim upon) the subsector.

Native Sophonts (NILs): 1105[edit]

No races (sophont species) are believed to have originated in this subsector.

Demographics: 1105[edit]

Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) reside within this subsector:
