The Tequila class Free Trader is a mercantile starship.
- It is a civilian ship, tail-sitter, and a Free Trader / Merchant.
- Its QSP is Free Trader (A-BS11).
Description (Specifications)
Using a 200-ton, TL-10 hull, the Tequila class Free Trader is an elementary interstellar merchant ship plying the space lanes carrying cargo and passengers. It mounts jump drive-A, maneuver drive-A, and power plant-A, giving a performance of Jump-1 and 1G acceleration. Fuel tankage supports a 1 parsec jump, at 20t per parsec, and one month of operations. Attached to the bridge is a Computer Model/1 std. There are 9 staterooms, an owner's suite, and 20 low berths. There are two single turrets, but without weapons installed. Cargo capacity is 82.0 tons. The ship has a streamlined hull, with scoops and intakes for frontier refueling.
The ship has four crew, and can carry six passengers and 20 low passengers.
Description: Using a 200-ton TL-9 streamlined hull, it is fitted with drives giving it Jump-1 and 1-G acceleration. Fuel tankage supports one Jump-1 and two months of power plant operations. Fuel scoops are included. Installed on the bridge is a computer Model/1 and the default sensor suite. Cargo capacity, the ship’s most important feature, is 82.0 tons, plus a mail vault. The hull is streamlined, and can land on uneven terrain. [1]
Crew Dossier: The free trader requires a crew of four: pilot/astrogator, engineer, medic, and steward. [2]

Basic Ship Characteristics
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of ten subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary. [3]

History & Background (Dossier)
Remarks: The free trader is an elementary interstellar merchant ship plying the space lanes carrying cargo and passengers. [5] The Type A becomes a popular cornerstone of interstellar commerce by the end of the TL:7-9 technological epoch in Vilani society. It is continually upgraded by the Vilani Bureaux. It is near ubiquitous throughout Vilani Space by the Vilani TL:10-12 tech epoch.
Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities
Most of these craft are named after heroes from various sophontic literature sources, particularly from Terran or Vilani literary heroes. [6]
