Notes (2016)[edit]

Hi User: Tjoneslo, when this is ready, would you please let me know so I can help you implement it? Thanks.

In using this template, how would we differentiate the changes in the UWP (ie. |uf= |ui= |u0= |u1= |us= |u2= |uc= |uh= |ur= etc.) ?

We don't. In theory you would add two of these templates with a different "era=" in the data page. The Template:StellarDataQuery should pull up both and put them in the same page. I'll try that and see. Tjoneslo (talk) 22:02, 21 April 2016 (EDT)

With the changes you recently made we lost the Travellermap link. I suppose that we could include the "historical" data in the text of the articles (currently there isn't that much anyways).

I see you changed things back a little, but the jump map isn't showing up for Thaeallikh (world).

Another question... I see that you use Milieu 1116 as your data point, whereas I have been using Second Survey; what would you suggest?

Milieu 1116 leads you to a placeholder page (I know that can easliy be changed), but if you use Milieu 0... that brings up the T4-book with that title.
You caught me in the middle of making changes to make this look clean and good.It should all be good now. If your page still looks broken, click on the "more" option in the menu and select the "Purge Cache". This will force the page to be fully refreshed on the server.
For the Era parameter I've been using the Category:Milieus names. The layout template adds a [[Category: Era: {{{era}}}]] to the page so it appears in the correct era category. The era's were selected to be reflective of the milieu's from the various editions of the game. We could have a longer discussion about exactly what year the data for the T5 Second Survey is from (1105 vs 1116). If you think we need another era to capture the correct data, please let me know. That's what I thought as well (that you were playing in your sandbox). It's all better now.

As far as T5 Second Survey (1105 vs 1116); I was of the opinion that T5-SS (I have issues with reading T5SS) was 1060. I know that we are misplacing 50 years (or so) of change there, but just how often does AAB get updated and distributed anyways... and just how much coffee did that survey team neglect to drink as they were jamming the data that leads to all this...

When I was working with Don on the T5-SS he made the point, and the Traveller Map site reflects this, that the data is for 1105. The reason for this is the work was being done to support the Mongoose Traveller writing effort. MG uses the 1105 (classic era) as its center point. Here at the wiki we selected the end point of the classic era as the marker: Hence Milieu 1116, but in reality it covers 1100 to 1116. Tjoneslo (talk) 07:29, 22 April 2016 (EDT)
