This infobox is to display a subsector with a text based map. Because we can't get a HTML (or wiki) table to show hexagons, we follow the standard set by the Atlas of the Imperium and use offset squares.

The map also allows setting background colors to show world allegiance to the various empires.

You do not need to include the pXXXX for the empty hexes, the template automatically marks them as empty if omitted.

The aXXXX is for setting the background color to the "hexes" to allow marking alleginace color. Omit the "#" from the color number. E.g. White is normally "#FFFFFF", you should enter this as "FFFFFF", the number sign is added automatically. If you omit the color for a hex, the default is white.

The Traveller wiki has a set of standard colors to be use for backgrounds when representing the larger empires in Charted Space. They are as follows:

History & Background (Dossier)

The colors have remained relatively stable although they have been changed in minor ways since their inception.

Traveller Map uses a similar set of default colors for the Big Nine.
