This is a infobox template for starships, space ships, and other space capable vehicle designs.

This template also stores data in the Starship Cargo table. This means the format of the elements is more specific and picky. The parameters to the template are parsed and inserted into tables in the database for query through Cargo.


There are 11 design templates correlating with the 11 Versions of Traveller that should be added to the bottom of ship articles under the references:

Base Information
Parameter Remarks Recommended Values
name Name of the ship or class of ships. For ship classes, include the word "class" (lower case) in the name. For individual ships Named Ships, enter only the name. Do not add any formatting.
image Image for the ship. Optional - link created - Displays at top of infobox. The image is auto-scaled to 250px
caption A short description of the image. Optional - Displays under image. Usually basic information to accompany an illustration.
tdes Type designation Use the one to three letter code from the Ship Mission Code encoding.
type Ship type name Link created - Please use the types listed in either Military Starship Types or Civilian Starship Types based upon the type designation above.
size-cat Size category of the ship Link created - expects one of: Smallcraft, ACS (Adventure class ship), BCS (Battle class ship), FCS (Fleet class ship), or WCS (World class ship)
size Ship size in Tons Number
hull Hull configuration or type used for construction See Hull page for the different types.
aerodynam Streamlining hull shape or aerodynamics. Link created. Expected values are Unstreamlined Hull, Partially Streamlined Hull, Streamlined Hull, Lifting Body, or Airframe Hull. See Hull page for the values.
TL Technology Level of the ship design TL Number only
Engineering
Parameter Remarks Recommended Values
model The type of Ship’s Computer used. Short text
jump Jump drive rating Number. Use 0 if none installed. For hop drives use the equivalent jump drive rating (e.g. 10 for hop-1)
g Maneuver drive or NAFAL drive rating of the ship. Number. Use 0 if none installed
fuelTreatment Short description of Fuel treatment installed. Optional - Omit if not included. Expected values are Scoops, Purifier, Scoops/Purifier.
Armaments
Parameter Remarks Recommended Values
hp Count of hard points installed on the ship Count. Used for mounting weapons or other external equipment.
weapons Summary of weapons installed Optional - Summarized important weapons only. Full descriptions should be in the article text.
screens Summary of screens and defense armaments installed. Optional - Summarized important installations only. Full descriptions should be in the article text.
Accommodations

staterooms Number of staterooms installed. Number. Total for both crew and passengers
bunks Bunks installed for crew. Optional - Count. Installed for crew, marines, and steerage passengers.
seats Number of seats installed. Optional - Count of seats installed, usually only for small craft and short term occupancy
lowberths Number of Low berths installed. Optional - Count of low berths installed for carrying low passengers and frozen watch
Personnel
crew Total expected crew size Count.
officers Number of the crew that are officers Optional - Count.
enlisted Number of the crew that are enlisted, or non-officers Optional - Count
pilots Number of pilots in the crew. Optional - Count of pilots on the ship as part of the crew. Usually limited to smallcraft
marines Number of armed fighters as part of the crew. OIptional - Count of crew that are specifically there to engage in ground or shipboard combat.
frozenWatch Number of crew in the Frozen Watch. Optional - Count
passengers Number of High passage or Middle passage passengers Count. This combines the number of high and middle passengers (which are in staterooms). The actual split should be noted in the article text.
steerage Number of steerage passengers Optional - Count. These people are carried in Bunkrooms.
Lpass Number of Low passage passengers Optional - Count.

Construction

construction Construction time in Months Optional - Number
origin World or empire where this ship class originated. Link created - Defaults to "Third Imperium"
manufacturer The Corporation or Polity that primarily manufactures the design. Optional - Company or polity building it. If there are multiple known manufacturers, the first listed one is where the design originated.
IOC Initial operational capability. Optional - The year that it first operated.
EOS End of service. Optional - Last operational capability. The last year that it officially operated.
Price

cost Cost of the ship, in MCr. Number. Does not include the architect fee or the bulk discount price
architect The fee charged by the Naval Architect to design the ship in MCr. Number. Generally 1% of the base cost of the ship. The real-world person which did the design are listed under designer. The in-game designer is listed first under manufacturer.

designSystem The design system and version of Traveller used to generate the build. Optional - text
era Milieu of the design Defaults to 1105. See Timeline or Milieu for categories.
ref published reference for this design. Optional - First or primary published reference for the ship. Use {{Ludography ref|name=xxx|page=yy}} if possible.
footnote A footnote for any extra information that might be relevant. Usually not used. Optional
