Notes (2014)

The Ziadd are listed as canon, but the only reference given is Signal GK. Is this a mistake? I wasn't aware that this was a canon publication. Rancke (talk) 00:26, 22 October 2014 (EDT)

The status of SignalGK as "canon" is an interesting conrundrum. As I was told it, the people who wrote the adventure Long Way Home for Marc Miller's Traveller used some of the library data from Signal-GK. By the logic of canon, if product A (Signal GK) is referenced by a canon product B (Long way home), all of product A now also becomes canon. Subject, of course, to later review by Marc Miller. I would have thought that the bits that were used in the canon product would become canon (in which case the canon product should be listed as the primary reference) and the rest would remain non-canon. But if you're right, then Signal GK should be relabeled as canon. (That still sounds really strange, especially for a magazine). Rancke (talk) 00:26, 22 October 2014 (EDT)

I think you are correct. The parts mention in the canon source should be canon, and everything else is non-canon. However, I believe that Marc and Don didn't want to spend the time reviewing every single entry in the Signal-GK so they took the simple solution. Marc has been know to change his mind.
