Speculation on the Queendom Remnants in the rimward part of the sector:

The most obvious question is, remnants of what? Considering the example of the joint Ithklur territories -- an integrated Federation cultural region and a nominally independent client state beyond the Federation borders -- I wonder if a similar arrangement exists with the Gurvin? Is this a traditionalist Gurvin state allowed to continue existing by the Hivers? The Gurvin are currently a Republic, apparently, and maybe before the rise of merchant republics they had monarchies? Gurvin would default to feminine terminology in politics, so Queendom over a neutral use of masculine-implied Kingdon makes sense.
