Notes (2018)

On my screen, the links in the table use a grid with rather different dimensions than the map itself, making it very difficult to use: https://imgur.com/a/CslLHQc 77topaz (talk) 06:55, 27 October 2018 (EDT)

This is due to the fleet numbers at locations being generated via the DPL. The problem is there are a few subsector articles using Template: Fleet more than once, which in turn generates a too wide values (e.g. 193193) and pushes the fleet number links to the right and misaligns them. Fixing this would require figuring out which subsector article have the extra templates and fix them. Tjoneslo (talk) 09:57, 27 October 2018 (EDT)

Oy. Oy vey.

The root cause is trying to put a table over an image. Doing that makes a whole large group of assumptions about the location and size of the text in each of the cells. If the font size is off, or one of the cells is wrong, the layout is all messed up. For example, this looks terrible on my phone.
The real solution it to chop the background image into however many subsector-sized images and use them as backgrounds for the individual table cells. But that's more work than I'm really up for right now.
In any case I tweaked a few things. Fix the subsectors in Deneb with two fleet numbers, and two subsectors in Lishun placed in the wrong position. This makes everything look better. Take another look and see how it goes. Tjoneslo (talk) 15:56, 27 October 2018 (EDT)

It's better, but it's still not fixed. In particular, there's some tildes being pushed off the right edge of the map which causes the spacing between the lines to become really big. 77topaz (talk) 23:20, 28 October 2018 (EDT)
One more fix. Missed one of the templates. Looks ok on both my computer and my phone. Please try again. Tjoneslo (talk) 07:57, 29 October 2018 (EDT)
Now the grid of the table and the image match up my screen! Great work! :) 77topaz (talk) 17:03, 30 October 2018 (EDT)

Thank you for your hard work, Thomas.
