Notes (2019)
I noticed that I was using the "Gzaefueg" spelling on TravellerMap (based on "THE CONSOLIDATED _TRAVELLER_ REGION NAME LIST" by Steve Bonneville. All the original sources I can find have "Gzaekfueg" as the spelling, so I've switched over. Is there any source for the spelling without the "K" ?

To be very honest, I simply don't know for sure. Perhaps Thomas does.
- I put in place a toponym box across nearly every sector around 2014-16 to record these things and also instituted a rough template for sectors to keep that data some what orderly.
The typical sequence of sector name development went:
- Atlas of the Imperium → Vargr (Alien Module) → Alien - Vilani & Vargr → History of the Imperium Working Group (HIWG)
My guess is that DP or HIWG did it... that's typically where new toponyms or alternate versions came from.
- Thomas started the version here in 2006 and while misreads occur, I trust his judgement.
- To support his original actions, I know I have read the K-less spelling somewhere, but haven't sourced it yet. Either way, Marc is good with it. I went over the Extents sectors a couple years ago with him.
- But you're the leader of the map, so do what you feel is best. I trust your judgment too.

- Quick review of various sources:
- Vargr (Alien Module) inside back cover has "Gzaekfueg" (with the K).
- Alien - Vilani & Vargr p. 49 has "Gzaekfueg" (with the K)
- The Galactic 2.4d (latest) distribution has Gzaekfueg (with the K)
- I can't find any the HIWG documents what have the no K spelling, but all of the published documents use the "Gzaekfueg" spelling.
- I have a note from the TML dated 2 Aug 87 16:43:15 PDT from (i'm guessing) Leonard Erickson with "Gzaefueg" (No K). And there are several repeats of the same list with the same (no k) spelling. Leonard, one of the data collectors for the TML published his list several times either spelling.
- I have a note to the TLM dated 28 Jul 1997 from Marc with the "Gzaefueg" (no K) spelling.
- I'm going to agree with Joshua here, primary name is "Gzaekfueg" with a K. Unless there are objections I'm going to move the page to match Traveller Map and the canon references. Tjoneslo (talk) 14:00, 30 June 2019 (EDT)
