The TC12 Ivorholm class Destroyer is a warship.

Description (Specifications)

The TC12 Ivorholm class Destroyer is a destroyer class deployed by the Trooles Confederation. Examples of the class can be encountered throughout the coreward parts of Theta Borealis Sector. The vessel has a fully streamlined conical structure hull. It is fitted with fuel scoops and fuel purification plant allowing it to perform wilderness ocean refueling.

Basic Ship Characteristics

Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]

Basic Ship Characteristics [2]
No. Category Remarks
1. Tonnage The TC12 Ivorholm class Destroyer is constructed using a 1,200 Ton hull built in a fully streamlined conical structure configuration. The hull is capable of wilderness ocean refueling.
  • The vessel has two airlocks. The cargo hold is accessed by a large bay doors that also serves to anchor docking clamps for service vehicles.
2. Crew x52 personnel.
  • x11 command, x5 engineering, x4 gunnery, x1 security, x2 service, x5 flight and x24 marines in 29 double occupancy staterooms.

Accommodations

  • There are 29 Staterooms.
    • All Staterooms are given over to the crew. All crew quarters are double occupancy.
  • There are two Low Berths.

Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems.

  • There are internal monitoring and security systems throughout the vessel. Individual sections of the hull can be sealed off.
  • There are multiple emergency lockers.
3. Performance The vessel mounts a Jump-2 drive, a Maneuver-6 drive, and an upgraded fusion Power Plant-6, giving performance of Jump-2 and 6-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 5 and an emergency agility of 6. The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for a Jump-2 and gives the power plant 4 weeks duration. It is fitted with drop tanks, should extended range operations be required.
  • The engineering section has a main control room.
  • The jump drive utilizes a lanthanum hull grid.
  • The jump drive is fitted with a jump governor.
4. Electronics Adjacent to the bridge is a Model/5 fib computer.
  • There are multiple workstations and control points throughout the vessel.
  • The vessel is fitted with communications equipment, a basic sensor array, and has an avionics suite. They have system range laser, microwave and radio communication arrays.
5. Hardpoints x12 hardpoints.
  • The listed weapons systems are typical for the class.
6. Armament TC12 Ivorholm class Destroyer are fitted with weapon systems for naval service.
  • x2 triple beam laser turrets firing as a single,factor 4 battery.

7. Defenses Factor-1 hull armor
8. Craft x2 20T TC02 Grave Endeavor class Dropships
9. Fuel Treatment The vessel has internal fuel tankage of 312.0 Tons. They are delivered with a new set of optional Jump-2 drop tanks, which can be fitted as needed.
  • The hull is fitted with fuel scoops.
  • The vessel is equipped with a fuel purification plant that can refine all onboard fuel in 8 hours: the plant is operated and maintained by the engineering crew.
10. Cost The basic cost of the vessel is MCr1,172.267 (base)
MCr937.814 (qty)
  • Architects Fee: MCr11.723
11. Construction Time 144 weeks as standard, 115 weeks in bulk.
  • Build times can be reduced by mass production and the efficiencies such processes generate, by increased financing, and by allotting additional yard resources and facilities to the construction contract.
12. Comments Standard cargo capacity amounts to 30.0 Tons.
  • The cargo hold can be sealed and has independent life support and environmental systems.
  • Sections of the hold may be isolated if desired and can be provided with specialized environmental conditions, typically refrigeration.

History & Background (Dossier)

The TC12 Ivorholm class Destroyer class is used by the Trooles Confederation. These fully streamlined conical structures can land on planetary surfaces. They retain the speed, and almost all of the agility and firepower of the larger destroyer classes. They carry a section of 24 marines who have a pair of small dropboats for dust off and recovery. Fleet missile barrages and ortillery are common missions for this platform. They have more cargo but less armor than their big brothers. Less expensive, they lost their back up computer, and their ECCM capabilities when compared with the TC13 Falcon class Destroyers. This class featured semi-autonomous robot arms in the cargo bay to facilitate cargo transfers between ships underway with the cargo bay doors mated and docked. There was an infamous incident in which a young ensign reprogrammed and used these arms to great effect repelling enemy boarding parties intent on looting the hold.
