History & Background (Dossier)
The TC12 Ivorholm class Destroyer class is used by the Trooles Confederation. These fully streamlined conical structures can land on planetary surfaces. They retain the speed, and almost all of the agility and firepower of the larger destroyer classes. They carry a section of 24 marines who have a pair of small dropboats for dust off and recovery. Fleet missile barrages and ortillery are common missions for this platform. They have more cargo but less armor than their big brothers. Less expensive, they lost their back up computer, and their ECCM capabilities when compared with the TC13 Falcon class Destroyers. This class featured semi-autonomous robot arms in the cargo bay to facilitate cargo transfers between ships underway with the cargo bay doors mated and docked. There was an infamous incident in which a young ensign reprogrammed and used these arms to great effect repelling enemy boarding parties intent on looting the hold.
